چکیده مقاله:

Rapid urbanization and population growth have created significant inequalities in the distribution of urban service spaces across cities. This research examines spatial inequalities in access to essential urban services in Isfahan, Iran, focusing on the effectiveness of the city's comprehensive plan in addressing these disparities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study employs spatial analysis, the Location Quotient model, Analytic Network Process, and Multi-Attributive Border Approximation area Comparison technique to assess the current distribution of land uses and accessibility across different districts of Isfahan. Findings reveal spatial disparities in the allocation of essential services across the city. The southern and central sectors boast a higher per capita share of services compared to the northern and western regions, highlighting concerns about unequal access and potential social injustices. Key recommendations include a comprehensive revision of urban development plans, implementation of standardized per capita service metrics, empowerment of public participation, targeted infrastructure investments, promotion of mixed-use development, and conducting resident satisfaction surveys. Further research avenues encompass cost-benefit analyses of intervention strategies, long-term sustainability assessments, and exploration of the dynamic nature of urban landscapes. By addressing these limitations and conducting further research, Isfahan can embark on a transformative journey towards a more equitable and sustainable urban environment where all residents have access to the essential services they need to thrive.
