This study explores the integration of innovative and sustainable structural systems in tall buildings, focusing on Burj Khalifa as an iconic example of architectural and engineering excellence. At the heart of its design lies the (Buttressed Core) system, a revolutionary approach that ensures efficient load distribution, enhances lateral stability, and minimizes material usage. Advanced numerical simulations using SAP۲۰۰۰ and ETABS were conducted to assess the tower’s response to extreme environmental forces, such as seismic activity and high wind pressures. However, due to data limitations and access constraints, some simulations could not be completed fully. Despite these challenges, the available data provides valuable insights into the overall structural performance of the Buttressed Core system. The research also examines the use of high-strength concrete and composite materials, which significantly contribute to reducing environmental impacts while enhancing structural resilience. Innovative retrofitting techniques, combined with vibration control systems like mass dampers, were explored to demonstrate how these solutions improve long-term performance and safety in skyscrapers. Furthermore, this study underscores the interplay between architectural aesthetics and functionality, illustrating how sustainability-driven designs can harmonize with visual appeal and urban integration. Key findings emphasize practical strategies for addressing challenges in urban megaprojects, such as energy efficiency, material optimization, and environmental adaptation. By offering a replicable framework, this research provides valuable insights for architects and engineers aiming to integrate sustainability and innovation into future skyscraper designs. It contributes significantly to the evolving discourse on sustainable urban development, encouraging transformative practices that align structural excellence with ecological responsibility. The Burj Khalifa serves not only as a case study, but as a blueprint for rethinking skyscraper design in the face of climate change and urbanization challenges.
