چکیده مقاله:

This study explores the symbolic architecture of Tehran during the Second Pahlavi Era, focusing on how key monuments such as the Azadi Tower and the Niavaran Complex were utilized by the regime to propagate a nationalistic narrative. By merging traditional Persian motifs with modernist design elements, the Pahlavi regime sought to project a vision of Iran that was both modern and deeply rooted in its ancient cultural heritage. The research employs a comprehensive methodology that includes primary sources such as archival materials and design specifications, as well as secondary scholarly analyses. Through a semiotic and contextual analysis, the study decodes the visual language of these monuments, revealing the regime's strategic use of architecture as a tool for nation-building. The findings highlight the intricate interplay between architecture, ideology, and nationalism, and provide insights into how the built environment was used to shape collective narratives of Iranian identity during a period of rapid modernization.
