Investigating the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on emotion regulation and tolerance of ambiguity in individuals with major depression

چکیده مقاله:
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of acceptance and commitment therapy on emotion regulation and tolerance of ambiguity in people with major depressive disorder . This study was conducted as a quasi - experimental study with a pre - test , post - test , and control group design . The statistical population included all patients with major depressive disorder in Zanjan city in ۱۴۰۲. Among these individuals , ۳۰ eligible volunteers were selected using convenience sampling and randomly divided into an experimental group ( ۱۵ people ) and a control group ( ۱۵ people ) . The instruments used in this study included the Beck Depression Inventory - II ( ۱۹۶۱) , the Difficulty in Regulating Life Scale ( Gratz & Ronmer , ۲۰۰۴ ) , and the Tolerance of Ambiguity Questionnaire. The experimental group received ۸ sessions of acceptance and commitment therapy , while the control group remained on the waiting list and did not receive any intervention . One - way ANOVA was used to analyze the data at the significance level of ۰.۰۵ was used. The results of the analysis of covariance showed that the treatment was effective at the ۰.۰۵ level for emotion regulation and tolerance of ambiguity . Based on the findings of this study , it can be concluded that the intervention of acceptance and emotional commitment is effective and beneficial in emotion regulation , tolerance of ambiguity , and emotions and can be used as an efficient treatment for emotion dysregulation .
