Agricultural tourism

According to the types of tourism, agricultural tourism, sometimes also called farm tourism, is a type of rural tourism that is directly related to agriculture in rural areas. Agrotourism means a business that is carried out for the purpose of recreation or public education of people and in which additional income is generated by offering farm products. Iran has a high potential for the development of agricultural tourism. By providing services to tourists, villagers in the targeted areas prevent factors such as migration to cities due to lack of income, unemployment of educated youth in villages, forgetting the culture and customs of life in villages, and since such tourists are looking to experience the simplicity of lifestyle and healthy nutrition, they do not need infrastructure such as hotels, and villagers can provide the necessary services to tourists with their usual living facilities.
