چکیده مقاله:

One of the most powerful technologies in the current era is artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence has not only changed the spheres of human life, but has also affected the military sphere. Therefore, it is necessary to create a framework for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the military sphere. In this regard, the norms and rules of international humanitarian law are the most important framework for the proper use of artificial intelligence in armed conflicts. This research is qualitative in terms of its practical purpose and its nature, and descriptive-analytical in terms of information gathering method. The aim of this research is to identify and explain the norms of international humanitarian law for the use of artificial intelligence in armed conflicts. The main question is: What are the rules and norms governing the use of artificial intelligence in armed conflicts from the perspective of international humanitarian law? The results of this research indicate that the most important fundamental rules governing artificial intelligence in armed conflicts from the perspective of international humanitarian law are: the unlimited discretion of states in the selection and use of weapons, the prohibition of indiscriminate means of warfare, the prohibition of the use of weapons that cause unnecessary suffering and harm, and the prohibition of the use of weapons that cause damage to the environment.
