چکیده مقاله:

Perjury and false swearing are among the serious issues in the judicial system of any country. These two concepts refer to the provision of false or misleading information in courts, which can have significant negative impacts on justice and truth. Perjury means providing false information as if it were the truth in court. This act not only leads to errors in the judge's decision-making but can also affect the lives of innocent individuals. On the other hand, false swearing means taking an oath to the truth of a claim while knowing that the claim is false. This act is also highly illegal and unethical and can have severe legal consequences for the individual. The consequences of perjury and false swearing can include legal penalties, such as imprisonment and financial fines. Additionally, these actions can damage the credibility of the judicial system and reduce public trust in justice. Perjury and false testimony are significant crimes within legal systems that can have profound and far-reaching effects on justice and the credibility of the judicial system. This article explores various aspects of this issue and emphasizes the importance of honesty in testimony. Initially, the concepts and definitions related to perjury and false testimony are elaborated upon, and key differences between these two concepts are examined. Subsequently, the legal and social impacts of these crimes, including legal penalties, effects on the credibility of testimony, and their social consequences, are analyzed. Additionally, the challenges and difficulties in proving false testimony, such as the difficulty of proof, social pressures, and lack of awareness of legal consequences, are discussed. Following this, preventive measures against these crimes are proposed, including education and awareness-raising, strengthening the judicial system, enacting new laws, and utilizing modern technologies. This article also addresses the psychological and social impacts of false testimony on witnesses and victims, and examines real-life examples of such testimonies. Ultimately, it concludes that in order to maintain justice and the credibility of the judicial system, serious measures must be taken to prevent and combat perjury and false testimony. Establishing a transparent and fair judicial system based on honesty and equity is of paramount importance.
