چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objectives: Spiritual competence, as an integral part of holistic care, can help patients recover and achieve health outcomes. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses' spiritual care competence and family satisfaction of patients admitted to critical care units. Method: This is a cross-sectional study. From July to December ۱۴۰۲, ۱۲۳ adult critical care nurses and ۱۲۳ family members of patients were randomly selected from social security hospitals in Tehran. Data collection tools included the spiritual care competence scale and Data collection tools included the nurses' spiritual care competency questionnaire and family satisfaction in the intensive care unit (FS-ICU-۲۴). SPSS version ۲۴ software was used for data analysis. The significance level was set at ۰.۰۵. Results: The results showed the high competence of spiritual care in critical care nurses (۱۰۴.۶۰ ± ۱۸.۴۷). The nurses' lowest score of spiritual care competence was in the assessment and implementation (۱۷.۹۰ ± ۶.۴۵ out of ۳۰), and the best score was in communication (۹.۲۳ ± ۱.۰۷ out of ۱۰). The results showed families of patients admitted to the intensive care unit had the lowest level of satisfaction in decision-making (۴۸.۶۲ ± ۲۱.۲۳ out of ۱۰۰) and the highest score was in satisfaction with care (۵۱.۶۰ ± ۱۹.۵۴ out of ۱۰۰). The findings indicated that the competence of nurses in spiritual care is not correlated to the satisfaction of the families of patients admitted to the intensive care unit. Conclusion: The results show that nurses' spiritual care competence has a weak correlation with the satisfaction of the patient's family. Thus, we recommend that future research investigate the factors that influence the level of spiritual care competence of nurses and the effect of spiritual care training on the quality of nursing care.
