چکیده مقاله:
Ecotourism, as one of the strategies for sustainable development, can play a crucial role in ecosystem conservation. The aim of this study is to examine the positive and negative impacts of ecotourism on ecosystem conservation, focusing on balancing economic development and environmental preservation. This research utilizes a literature review method, analyzing scientific articles, reports, and relevant documents related to ecotourism and environmental protection. The findings reveal that, if managed properly, ecotourism can contribute to ecosystem conservation by raising public awareness, engaging local communities in natural resource protection, and providing financial support for conservation projects. For example, regions effectively planned for ecotourism have successfully created sustainable income for local communities, reducing dependence on harmful activities such as hunting and deforestation, thereby mitigating environmental threats. On the other hand, the research highlights that poor management of ecotourism can lead to environmental degradation, including habitat destruction, increased waste and pollution, and negative impacts on wildlife. The study's main conclusion is that to harness the potential of ecotourism for ecosystem conservation, comprehensive and participatory programs involving government agencies, the private sector, and local communities must be developed and implemented. These programs should be based on principles such as environmental carrying capacity, education and awareness, and fair distribution of economic benefits. Additionally, continuous monitoring and evaluation of the environmental impacts of ecotourism are essential to implement corrective measures when necessary. Ultimately, ecotourism can serve as an effective strategy for ecosystem conservation if sustainability criteria guide its development and involve various stakeholders' collaboration.
