چکیده مقاله:

The construction industry faces critical environmental challenges due to its reliance on traditional materials, prompting the need for sustainable alternatives. This study investigates the development, optimization, and application of biodegradable polymers as eco-friendly solutions for the construction sector. Biodegradable polymer formulations enhanced with nano-cellulose fibers and bio-based fillers demonstrated a ۳۰% improvement in tensile strength and a ۲۵% increase in compressive strength compared to untreated polymers. Decomposition studies revealed complete biodegradation within ۱۲ months, significantly reducing construction waste. Lifecycle assessments (LCA) highlighted a ۴۰% reduction in carbon emissions and a ۶۰% decrease in landfill dependency. Despite initial production costs being ۲۰% higher, lifecycle savings were achieved through reduced waste management and environmental remediation costs. Field validations confirmed the effectiveness of biodegradable polymers in temporary formworks, lightweight panels, and protective coatings, showcasing their versatility and practical applicability. Computational simulations further validated the polymers' structural resilience under various load conditions, providing insights into stress distribution and failure modes. This research underscores the potential of biodegradable polymers to transform the construction industry by addressing environmental concerns while maintaining functional performance. Future directions include scaling production technologies and integrating biodegradable polymers with emerging digital technologies for predictive maintenance.
