چکیده مقاله:

Mural paintings in Iranian mosques, particularly from the Safavid era, are distinguished by their intricate designs and cultural significance. However, the Jame Mosque of Qahjavaristan, despite its architectural prominence, has received limited scholarly attention. This study addresses this gap by focusing on the visual analysis of the mosque's mural decorations, specifically in its dome. The primary objective is to analyze the artistic elements and visual structure based on defined principles of mural painting. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the research integrates library research with field studies, ensuring a comprehensive examination of both architectural and artistic aspects. The results reveal that the dome's wall decorations predominantly feature plant and geometric motifs, organized meticulously to complement the mosque's architectural context. These elements are not merely decorative but are integral to enhancing the spiritual ambiance and aesthetic experience. Numerical analysis indicates that over ۶۰% of the patterns are geometric, while ۴۰% are plant-based, reflecting a balanced artistic approach. This study's innovation lies in its dual focus on visual and structural analysis, providing a deeper understanding of Safavid era mural art in Iranian mosques. The findings contribute to the broader field of Islamic art history and underscore the need for further comparative studies with other contemporaneous structures to fully appreciate the evolution of mural art in this period.
