چکیده مقاله:
Reinforced concrete structures are highly durable and resistant to adverse environmental conditions. However, premature corrosion of the reinforcements can lead to structural failure. Effective inspection and monitoring techniques are necessary for the safety of bridges and buildings. Engineers need better techniques to assess the condition of structures when repair and maintenance are needed. This seminar reviews all electrochemical and non-destructive techniques for evaluating corrosion and their application in civil engineering structures such as bridges and buildings. It also discusses the technology and applications of the Internet of Things (IoT) in meeting safety requirements in the civil engineering sector for designing a secure condition in this industry. It presents applications and solutions of IoT in civil engineering and introduces an innovative device called 'IoT Corr' for monitoring the corrosion of physical and chemical reinforcements in concrete using IoT technology.
