چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Smoke-water is a chemical extract used to stimulate the germination of many plant species under cultivation. This study evaluated the efficacy of smoke-water on the seed germination and seedling growth of cucumber. Materials and methods: The experiment was conducted as a factorial in the form of a completely randomized design in ۳ replications. The first factor included different levels of drought stress at three levels: ۰, -۰.۵ and -۰.۱۰ MPa and the second factor included three levels of water smoke including ۰, ۱:۵۰۰, ۱:۱۰۰۰, ۱:۲۰۰۰ and ۱:۵۰۰۰ (V: V). Results and Discussion: According to the obtained results, drought stress had a negative effect on the germination and growth characteristics of cucumber. While, all concentrations of smoke extracts significantly improved the traits studied in this experiment. The highest percentage of germination was observed in the conditions without stress and different levels of water smoke. Conclusion: In the conditions of drought stress, the use of water smoke increases the germination percentage and growth characteristics of greenhouse cucumber. Therefore, it is recommended to use a concentration of ۱:۵۰۰۰ water smoke for cucumbers. Keywords: Cucumis sativus, Plant derived smoke, Seedling vigour
