چکیده مقاله:

Natural rubber is a vital material utilized in more than ۵۰,۰۰۰ products, making it indispensable in various sectors, including transportation and healthcare. Properties such as flexibility, resistance to abrasion and impact, and efficient heat dissipation make natural rubber (NR) a vital material in today's society. More than ۲,۵۰۰ plant species can produce natural rubber, but the main commercial source of natural rubber in the world is the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis). However, disease threats such as South American leaf blight (SALB) and limited genetic diversity challenge its production. Additionally, because this tree is native to tropical regions, its cultivation in other parts of the world faces challenges. Therefore, there is a strong need to find stable and high-quality alternatives for the production of natural rubber. The Russian dandelion (Taraxacum kok -saghyz) emerges as a strong candidate due to its high-quality rubber yield, superior characteristics, including higher molecular weight, and absence of allergens. Moreover, its ability to adapt makes it promising for meeting global rubber demand. Seed dormancy is a protective mechanism that enables seeds to delay germination under unfavorable conditions. Different dormancy types, including physiological, morphological, physical, and chemical dormancy, influence seed germination in various ways. Understanding these mechanisms is critical for enhancing germination and promoting plant growth. This study's objective is to analyze the effects of KNO۳ on the germination percentage of Russian dandelion seeds, assessing how varying concentrations can facilitate seed germination and improve understanding of nutritional treatments for seed viability.
