Analytical Monitoring of the Buoy Hull

The hull of a buoy is considered one of the most important components of the buoy. Giventhat the buoy's hull is subjected to hydrostatic pressure from water, its design must be capable ofwithstanding the pressure at depth. Therefore, the mechanisms of structural failure need to beexamined. Considering that the predominant failure mechanism is plate buckling, it is essential todetermine the geometric tolerances of the structure in a way that ensures no damage occurs. In thisstudy, the limits of geometric tolerances for the structure have been analyzed using finite elementanalyses in Abaqus and ANSYS software.
