چکیده مقاله:

The COVID-۱۹ pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to the global healthcare system, particularly for cancer patients.(Claveau, Mahmood et al. ۲۰۲۴)Pressure on healthcare services to prioritize COVID-۱۹ care inevitably led to a reduction in service availability for other conditions,(Ahmed, Walton et al. ۲۰۲۴)with an estimated ۲۸ million operations cancelled worldwide in the first ۱۲ weeks of the pandemic.(Ansari, Malik et al. ۲۰۲۴)Cancer patients were considered particularly vulnerable due to the increased risk of infection and mortality.(Liang, Guan et al. ۲۰۲۰, Onder, Rezza et al. ۲۰۲۰, Xia, Jin et al. ۲۰۲۰, Yu, Ouyang et al. ۲۰۲۰) Initialdata suggested that COVID-۱۹ infection during the perioperative period or while receiving anti-cancer treatment was associated with high mortality rates, with cancer patient mortality reported around ۳۰%.(Lee, Cazier et al. ۲۰۲۰, Pagano, Salmanton-García et al. ۲۰۲۱, Rüthrich, Giessen-Jung et al. ۲۰۲۱) This article reviews the challenges faced by cancer patients, including delays in diagnosis, increased risks for severe COVID-۱۹ outcomes, and disruptions in oncologic care. It also highlights preventive innovations such as vaccination strategies, telemedicine, and infection control measures. These findings emphasize the need for continuous adaptation in cancer care to ensure optimal outcomes during pandemics.
