Air pollution poses a grave threat to public health, particularly in urban environments where pollutant concentrations are high. This study employs the Air Q plus software, developed by the World Health Organization, to assess the health impacts of air pollution in Isfahan, Iran. By integrating air quality data, relative risk estimates, and baseline mortality rates Air Q plus facilitates the quantification of mortality attributable to particulate matter ( and ). The findings of the study indicate that between ۲,۱۹۰ and ۳,۵۶۰ deaths annually can be linked to particulate matter exposure, depending on pollutant concentrations and relative risk estimates. These findings underscore the urgency of implementing targeted air quality interventions. Air Q plus proves to be an indispensable tool, offering robust methodologies to estimate the health burden of air pollution and simulate the potential benefits of improved air quality policies. Achieving air quality limit values (۱۰ µg/m³ for and ۲۰ µg/m³ for ) could lead to substantial reductions in mortality rates this study underscores the critical need for evidence-based policy measures, investments in cleaner technologies, and enhanced public awareness to mitigate the impact of air pollution Addressing air pollution in Isfahan and similar urban centers is not only an environmental imperative but also a vital public health priority.
