چکیده مقاله:
The integration of telemedicine and digital health tools is transforming healthcare administration in Iran, enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. With a diverse healthcare landscape that includes both urban and remote areas, telemedicine offers solutions such as virtual consultations, electronic health records (EHRs), artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted diagnostics, and remote patient monitoring. These digital innovations streamline administrative processes, reduce hospital congestion, and improve healthcare delivery by enabling remote access to medical expertise. Iran has made progress in adopting telemedicine through government initiatives and expanding digital infrastructure, particularly in underserved regions. However, several challenges hinder its full-scale implementation, including regulatory uncertainties, data privacy concerns, digital literacy gaps, and technological limitations. The lack of comprehensive policies governing telemedicine, unclear reimbursement frameworks, and cybersecurity risks pose significant obstacles. To optimize the role of telemedicine in treatment center administration, strategic measures such as clear regulatory guidelines, investment in digital infrastructure, and enhanced cybersecurity protocols are necessary. Additionally, training programs for healthcare professionals and awareness campaigns for patients can facilitate widespread adoption and effective utilization of digital health solutions. AI-driven automation in administrative tasks, including patient triage, resource allocation, and decision support, can further improve operational efficiency. While challenges remain, Iran’s healthcare sector stands to benefit significantly from telemedicine’s potential to expand access, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes. Addressing key barriers through strategic investments and policy reforms will enable the country to build a more efficient and inclusive healthcare system that leverages digital technologies for sustainable progress.
