Oral and dental diseases are a major global public health problem that is both prevalent and has majornegative impacts on individuals, communities, and society. In this article on oral health, we highlight theevidence related to the importance of oral diseases in terms of prevalence, patterns of oral and dental healthinequality, and its socio-economic effects on individuals, families, and society. For this purpose, this study hasbeen designed with the aim of influencing the socio-economic situation in low-income and middle-incomecommunities on oral and dental health. Globally, more than ۳.۵ billion people suffer from oral and dentaldiseases, which are chronic and progressive in nature, starting from early childhood and progressing throughoutadolescence and adulthood and reaching the next life. Oral and dental diseases disproportionately affect thepoorer and marginalized groups of society and are closely related to socioeconomic status and social andcommercial factors. The low income of the family and probably a lot of mental preoccupations, not havinginsurance and the family not being able to provide the expenses related to oral and dental health, cause lessimportance and serious damage to oral and dental health and ultimately health. Living in the village alsoreduces the probability of health, probably due to less access to dental centers and periodical examinations.Oral health is an inevitable part of public health, the assessment of which plays an important role in determiningthe health status and health and treatment planning of communities.
