Job satisfaction and its influencing factors in medical staff of hospitals affiliated to Jundishapur University ofAhwaz city

Background: Job satisfaction is a level of positive feelings and attitudes that people have towards their jobs.Identifying factors affecting job satisfaction is very important because this category plays a significant role inorganizational consequences and even individual life. This study was conducted with the aim of determining thefactors affecting job satisfaction in the medical staff of teaching hospitals in Ahvaz city.Methodology: This research was a cross-sectional study in which ۱۵۰ people working in this profession wereevaluated based on demographic profile questionnaire and job satisfaction questionnaire. The data were interpretedwith the help of Chi-square statistical tests, Post Hoc test, One-way Anova and T test.Results: It was found that among the subjects, ۳۸% had low job satisfaction, ۶۰.۷% had average job satisfaction, and۱.۳% had high job satisfaction. A significant relationship was observed between the variables of education level, jobposition and workplace in the hospital with job satisfaction (P=۰.۰۰۱), (P=۰.۰۰۴), (P=۰.۰۲) respectively.Conclusion: Improving the rights and benefits and observing justice in the rights of healthcare workers, especiallynurses, in comparison with other government workers, adjusting working hours, overtime and shift work is necessaryto maintain the quality of nursing services, nurse satisfaction and ultimately patient satisfaction. By consideringdemographic and occupational factors, satisfaction can be evaluated periodically to determine the effectiveness of theactions taken.
