In this work, some thermodynamic properties of small alkanes consist of Joule-Thomson and thermal expansion coefficient are estimated and modeled in order to evaluate the performance of the correlation equation of second virial coefficient of them at low density and pressure. The studied fluids are CH۴ to n-C۵H۱۲. The correlation equation in use is the one suggested by Zarkova et al. The use of virial coefficients and virial equation of state, which is based on theoretical studies and statistical mechanics, is an approach in which a bridge is created between microscopic and macroscopic properties that can show the non-ideal behavior of real fluids. Obtained results show that thermodynamic properties of studied molecules have been predicted and modeled very well by the correlation equation presented in a wide range temperatures.
