چکیده مقاله:

Flow batteries are rechargeable batteries that store and release energy using charged electrolytes in an electrochemical cell. They stand out owing to their susceptibility to separate power and energy capacity, allowing flexible scaling of power output and energy storage. Compared to traditional batteries, flow batteries offer several advantages. They can be scaled independently, allowing for flexibility in meeting diverse energy storage needs. Research on flow batteries has shown immense potential as a sustainable and efficient energy storage solution. Flow batteries have achieved quantitatively significant improvements in energy density, making them more trustworthy for large-scale energy storage. They have also made significant quality improvements, including longer cycle life, reduced degradation, and improved stability, thanks to material and design advances. While there are competes to prevail, such as expense reduction and scaling up production, flow batteries have already proven to be a promising solution with the potential to revolutionize energy storage and contribute significantly to a greener and more sustainable future. Ongoing research and development efforts are on indicating a bright future for flow batteries in the evolving energy landscape. This paper, will review the principle of operation, materials used, and current applications of flow batteries.
