In modern power systems, maintaining stability in interconnected multi-machine networks has become increasingly challenging due to the complexity and size of these systems. The synchronization of generators is crucial to ensuring system stability, especially under the influence of disturbances such as electromechanical oscillations. This paper proposes a Type-۲ fuzzy logic-based control system designed to improve the stability of multi-machine power systems by effectively mitigating electromechanical oscillations and stabilizing both voltage and frequency outputs. Through detailed modeling and simulation studies on the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) sample system, the performance of the proposed control method is compared with a standard Power System Stabilizer (PSS) and a Type-۱ fuzzy logic controller. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control system provides superior performance, exhibiting faster stabilization, reduced oscillation amplitudes, and better handling of fault-induced frequency deviations. This method shows promise in enhancing the robustness and reliability of multi-machine power systems, even under conditions of nonlinearity and parametric uncertainty.
