Investigation of Infections, Deaths, and Vaccination Indicators Associated with Covid-۱۹ in the Six World Health Organization Regions

As of July ۱۹, ۲۰۲۳, the Western Pacific region having the highest number of vaccines per ۱۰۰ people (۲۴۱.۸) and the highest vaccination rate (۸۵.۴%), while the African region had the lowest numbers for both (۵۵.۰ and ۳۱.۵%). A significant positive correlation was found between the number of infections and deaths across the World Health Organization (WHO) regions (r=۰.۹۴۷, p-value=۰.۰۰۱), suggesting that areas with higher infection rates also experienced more deaths. However, no significant associations were discovered between the number of infections or deaths and vaccination indicators. Interestingly, an inverse and significant relationship was established between the number of vaccinations per ۱۰۰ persons and the death-to-infection ratio (r=-۰.۷۶۹, p-value=۰.۰۴۳), and between the death-to-infection ratio and the percentage of vaccinations in the regions (r=-۰.۷۷۶, p-value=۰.۰۴۰). This indicates that regions with higher vaccination rates tend to have a lower ratio of deaths to infections. The results of this study suggested that achieving complete vaccination coverage could potentially reduce the mortality rate associated with COVID-۱۹ virus infection.
