چکیده :

This paper presents a comprehensive comparison between nuclear energy and antimatter as energy sources. Nuclear energy, based on nuclear fission and fusion, has been a cornerstone in power generation, military applications, and medical treatments for decades. It is well-established in industries, offering significant energy yields, yet it also carries risks, including radioactive waste and the threat of nuclear accidents or weapons proliferation. Despite these challenges, nuclear energy remains a key player in both civilian and military sectors due to its relatively high energy output and widespread use. In contrast, antimatter represents a fundamentally different energy source. It is produced through the annihilation of matter and antimatter, releasing tremendous amounts of energy. Although antimatter is the most energy-dense substance known to humanity, producing even small quantities is currently expensive and technologically challenging. Theoretically, antimatter could revolutionize energy production and propulsion, but its practical applications remain limited due to high production costs and the lack of infrastructure for large-scale production. While nuclear energy has been harnessed for decades, antimatter is still in its infancy as a potential energy source. This paper explores the applications, risks, production costs, and environmental impacts of both technologies. It also discusses the possibility of antimatter replacing or complementing nuclear energy in the future, particularly in areas such as space propulsion or military applications. Ultimately, the comparison highlights the immense potential of antimatter but emphasizes the ongoing challenges of its production and use. It also underscores the continued importance of nuclear energy as a proven and reliable energy source, despite its drawbacks.
