چکیده مقاله:

Brilliant Blue FCF (BB) is an azo dye most used in food industry. The release of this dye in wastewater causes prominent problems for aquatic life as well as agriculture. In this research, the potential of Chlorella vulgaris microalgae for bioremoval of BB dye in synthetic wastewater by using a bubble column photobioreactor (BCPBR) was investigated. The removal studies showed that below ۱۵ mg L-۱ of BB dye, the removal percentage increased as the dye concentration increased; however, above this concentration up to ۵۰ mg L-۱ the opposite was observed and the removal decreased. The maximum removal percentage was ۶۲.۲% for the ۱۵ mg L-۱ concentration at the end of the experiment followed by ۴۹.۰۳% for ۵ and ۱۰ mg L-۱. Dry weight measurements showed that this dye does not have any growth hindering properties besides lowering the diffusion of light and lowering growth rate. No adsorption was observed for the removal of this dye.
