چکیده مقاله:

This review explores the dynamic interplay between attachment styles and self-concept within romantic relationships. Drawing on attachment theory and self-concept frameworks, the study synthesizes existing research to examine how attachment styles, secure, anxious, and avoidant shape individuals' self-concept and influence relational outcomes. Securely attached individuals exhibit positive self-concepts characterized by self-worth and emotional resilience, enabling healthier relationship dynamics such as open communication and conflict resolution. Conversely, insecure attachment styles are associated with fragmented self-concepts, with anxious attached individuals demonstrating self-doubt and dependency, and avoidant attached individuals maintaining emotional distance and self-reliance. The findings underscore that romantic relationships act as a significant context for self-concept evolution. Supportive partnerships enhance self-esteem through affirmation and acceptance, while insecure or conflictual relationships contribute to fragile or negative self-perceptions. This review highlights the theoretical and practical implications of understanding attachment styles in fostering positive self-concept development. The integration of attachment-focused interventions is suggested to strengthen emotional regulation and relational satisfaction. By bridging the gap between attachment styles and self-concept, this study provides valuable insights for relationship counseling and therapeutic practices.
