چکیده مقاله:

Corrosion of prestressed concrete, particularly the degradation of tendons and reinforcement, ‎jeopardizes infrastructure safety and longevity, especially in chloride-rich environments like marine, ‎industrial, and de-icing areas. This review examines advanced corrosion mitigation strategies, including ‎corrosion inhibitors, cathodic protection, high-performance concrete (HPC), and post-tensioning strand ‎coatings. Corrosion inhibitors, such as calcium nitrite, modify electrochemical reactions to protect ‎reinforcement, while cathodic protection systems effectively halt corrosion but require maintenance. ‎HPC enhances durability by reducing permeability and improving steel-concrete bonding, delaying ‎corrosion onset. Post-tensioning strand coatings provide additional defense by blocking moisture and ‎chlorides. Case studies illustrate the effectiveness of these methods in extending service life and ‎minimizing maintenance costs. A multi-layered prevention approach is recommended for optimal ‎results. The paper also highlights the need for future research to improve cost-efficiency and monitoring ‎technologies, ensuring the sustainability and safety of prestressed concrete structures in aggressive ‎environments.
