چکیده مقاله:

The mental health of nurses working in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) is a critical concern due to the high-stress environment and the emotional demands of caring for critically ill patients. This article examines the effectiveness of training programs focused on moral intelligence (MI) and emotional intelligence (EI) as a means to enhance the mental well-being of ICU nurses. Moral intelligence encompasses the ability to adhere to ethical principles, demonstrating integrity, compassion, respect, and responsibility in nursing practice. Emotional intelligence involves recognizing, understanding, and managing one's own emotions while also being attuned to the emotions of others. The integration of MI and EI training into nursing education and professional development is essential for equipping nurses with the skills necessary to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and emotional challenges inherent in ICU settings. The article discusses the significant challenges faced by ICU nurses, including high levels of stress, emotional exhaustion, and moral distress, which can lead to burnout and negatively impact patient care. By implementing MI and EI training programs, healthcare organizations can foster resilience, improve interpersonal relationships, and enhance overall job satisfaction among nurses. Research findings indicate that such training not only leads to improved emotional regulation and reduced stress but also enhances job satisfaction and retention rates among nursing staff. Through case studies and empirical evidence, this article highlights the positive outcomes associated with MI and EI training, emphasizing the need for ongoing support and reinforcement to ensure lasting change. The findings underscore the importance of prioritizing the mental health of ICU nurses as a means to improve patient care and safety. Furthermore, the article advocates for a systemic approach to integrating MI and EI training into nursing curricula and ongoing professional development, recognizing that a well-supported nursing workforce is essential for delivering high-quality care in the demanding environment of ICUs. By investing in the mental health of nurses, healthcare organizations not only enhance the well-being of their staff but also contribute to better patient outcomes, ultimately fostering a healthier healthcare system. This comprehensive approach will ensure that nurses are equipped not only with clinical skills but also with the emotional and ethical competencies necessary to thrive in their roles.
