When it comes to oral health, the first thing you probably think of is tooth decay and how to prevent it to maintain your oral health. But you should know that your gums are just as important. If you do not follow hygiene, the likelihood of developing various types of gum disease increases. In many cases, bleeding gums are a sign of gum disease. However, other factors can also lead to problems and types of gum disease. It is important to know that if your gums are in trouble and become red, swollen or painful, you should find the cause and treat the gums as soon as possible to minimize the damage they cause. Gums play an important role in oral health and overall health. Gum infection is a serious inflammation of the gums caused by the accumulation of bacteria and plaque. In advanced stages, it can lead to the loss of bone and tissue supporting the teeth. Treatment for this disease depends on the extent and severity of the infection. There are various surgical and non-surgical methods to treat this disease. Periodontitis, also known as gum disease, is a serious gum infection that damages the soft tissue around your teeth. If left untreated, gum disease can destroy the bone that supports your teeth. As a result, your teeth may become loose or fall out
