چکیده مقاله:

Social media has become an integral part of modern society, especially for adolescents who spend a significant amount of time online. One of the major impacts of social media on adolescents is its influence on body image and self-esteem. With the rise of platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, adolescents are constantly exposed to images and videos of seemingly flawless bodies and lifestyles. This constant exposure to idealized and often unrealistic standards of beauty can have a detrimental effect on adolescents' body image and self-esteem. Studies have shown that adolescents who spend more time on social media are more likely to compare themselves to others and feel dissatisfied with their own appearance. This can lead to a distorted perception of their body image and a decrease in self-esteem. In addition, the pressure to conform to these unrealistic beauty standards can also lead to the development of body image issues such as eating disorders and body dysmorphic. Furthermore, the constant validation and approval seeking that comes with social media can also negatively impact adolescents' self-esteem, as they may feel inadequate or inferior compared to their peers
