This paper aims to evaluate and compare the efficiency of five recently introduced algorithms enhanced using the statistical regeneration mechanism (SRM), in the optimum design of double-layer grid structures. These algorithms are the enhanced dandelion optimizer (EDO), enhanced Rao optimization algorithms (ERao), vibrating particle system - SRM (VPS-SRM), and particle swarm optimization - SRM (PSO-SRM). The design examples consist of ۵۲۰-bar double layer, ۸۰۰-bar double layer, and ۱۵۲۰-bar double layer grid structures. During the optimization process, a feasible region is determined based on three code-based constraints: displacement of nodes, stress of members, and slenderness of members. Numerical results indicate that the enhanced algorithms exhibited competitive performance and, in some cases, outperformed them in minimizing the overall weight and statistical parameters.
