چکیده مقاله:
Emphasizing the role of communities and fostering interaction between public and private institutions in waste management can lead to the establishment of effective infrastructures for sustainable development. This study aims to examine the importance of community participation and collaboration among various sectors in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of urban waste recycling programs. The present study adopts a review methodology by searching and collecting articles and credible texts from scientific databases, including Sid.ir, Elsevier, Google Scholar, and Scopus, using keywords such as social participation, intersectoral support, and urban waste. Forty articles published between ۲۰۱۹ and ۲۰۲۴ were identified. After reviewing the titles, abstracts, and keywords, ۵۰ articles were selected, and ultimately, ۴۳ relevant articles were included in the study. Findings indicate that waste recycling, besides its economic benefits, offers significant health and environmental advantages. However, an excessive focus on technical approaches (such as providing equipment and workforce) while neglecting the importance of responsible participation by individuals and organizations has limited the efficiency of recycling programs. Evidence suggests that social participation and intersectoral support are key elements in the success of sustainable recycling initiatives. This approach not only reduces environmental pollution and improves urban quality of life but also fosters a sense of collective responsibility and social cohesion. It is recommended that policymakers develop frameworks to strengthen these collaborations, thereby creating a more effective implementation of recycling projects.
