چکیده مقاله:

Purpose: This study examines the potential of game-based learning, apps, and platforms like Duolingo in enhancing student engagement and interaction in English language learning. The research aims to analyze how gamified elements can support language acquisition, increase motivation, and create an immersive learning experience for students across different proficiency levels. Methods: A review and library research methodology was employed to gather and analyze relevant literature on game-based learning and educational technology in language acquisition. Sources included academic journals, books, and research reports that provide insights into the use of gamified platforms such as Duolingo for English language learning. Results: The literature review indicated that game-based learning tools, particularly Duolingo, have been successful in improving vocabulary retention, grammar accuracy, and reading comprehension. Studies consistently report that the use of game elements, such as progress tracking and reward systems, increases student motivation and engagement. Furthermore, these platforms provide an interactive and enjoyable learning environment, which encourages consistent practice outside of formal classroom settings. Conclusion: Game-based learning apps and platforms like Duolingo hold significant promise for enhancing English language learning through increased engagement and interactive methods. The findings suggest that integrating gamified elements can effectively motivate students and support sustained language practice. Further research could explore long-term impacts and adaptation of gamification in diverse language-learning contexts.
