چکیده مقاله:
Background: The caudate sulcus of the septum pellucidum (CSP) is an important anatomical structure that plays a role in fetal brain development. This study aimed to evaluate the positioning, geometric properties, and area of the CSP in pregnant women, as well as its relation to the midline. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with ۱۰۶ pregnant women. The position of the CSP relative to the midline was assessed, and its length-to-width ratio, area, and shape were measured using ultrasound imaging. Statistical analyses were performed to examine the relationships between these features and maternal characteristics such as age, BMI, and gestational age. Results: The majority of CSPs were positioned at or near the midline (۶۷.۹%). The length-to-width ratio of the CSP was predominantly greater than ۱.۵, indicating an elongated shape. The CSP area ranged from ۶ to ۱۰ mm², with some larger values observed. No significant associations were found between CSP characteristics and maternal factors. Conclusions: The CSP's position, geometry, and area exhibit normal variations in pregnant women, with most measurements falling within the expected developmental range. These findings provide a useful reference for fetal brain development assessment and may help in identifying abnormal brain structures during pregnancy.
