چکیده مقاله:

Every year, millions of deaths occur worldwide due to cancer. Even though many advances have been made in medicine, there are still many issues that need to be addressed to improve cancer treatment. For this reason, oncology research is making great efforts to find new and effective treatments that can reduce the critical side effects caused by conventional treatments. Cancer is one of the diseases that is still a big challenge for doctors, researchers and patients. With the advancement of technology and medical science, many efforts have been made to find new and innovative methods in cancer treatment. Various technologies are currently being evaluated in clinical trials or have already entered clinical practice. While nano medicine is helping to develop biocompatible materials for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, bioengineering of extracellular vesicles and patient-derived cells has enabled the design of temporary systems and cellular targeting strategies. . Since they are still waiting for powerful treatments to successfully treat cancer, some non-conventional treatments such as radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy and some advanced technologies such as gene therapy, stem cells, natural antioxidants, targeted therapy , photodynamic therapy, nanoparticles and precision medicine are available for cancer diagnosis and treatment. In the present review, the main focus is on the development of efficient nano medicines for cancer treatment. Although stem cell therapy has the ability to target primary and metastatic foci of cancer, it also has the ability to repair and regenerate damaged tissues. However, nanoparticles have been designed to have such novel therapeutic capabilities. Targeted therapy is also now available to stop the growth of cancer cells without harming healthy tissues. Another alternative approach in this direction is photodynamic therapy. which has more potential for cancer treatment because it causes minimal damage and does not limit other technologies, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The best possible way to cure cancer is to develop new treatments through translational research.
