The Role of Green and Blue Infrastructures in Urban Resilience and Livability

Rapid urbanization and climate change threaten city livability. This study explores the potential of Green and Blue Infrastructure (BGI) to enhance urban resilience and livability, particularly within the framework of the ۱۵-Minute City concept. BGI offers a nature-based solution that combines green spaces and water features to promote sustainability, climate resilience, and social cohesion. The ۱۵-Minute City aims to create self-sufficient neighborhoods with essential services accessible by walking or cycling. Integrating BGI within the ۱۵-Minute City can offer numerous benefits, including improved air and water quality, reduced flood risk, enhanced thermal comfort, and increased opportunities for physical activity and social interaction. This research, based on a literature review, investigates the synergies between BGI and the ۱۵-Minute City concept, highlighting its potential to contribute to the development of more resilient and livable urban environments.
