چکیده مقاله:
Nanotechnology has emerged as a transformative force within the pharmaceutical industry, offering a revolutionary approach to drug delivery through the development of nanoparticles. By exploiting the unique properties of materials at the nanoscale, nanotechnology offers innovative approaches to address challenges in drug delivery, diagnosis, and treatment. This review examines the key applications of nanotechnology in pharmaceuticals, including nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems, targeted drug delivery, diagnostic imaging agents, nano biosensors, tissue engineering scaffolds, and cancer nanotherapeutics. One of the most significant advantages of nanoparticles lies in their ability to encapsulate drugs, thereby improving their solubility, stability, and bioavailability within the body. This enhanced control over a drug's behavior allows for targeted delivery to specific tissues or cells. By leveraging surface modifications and external stimuli, nanoparticles can be engineered to recognize and bind to specific receptors on diseased cells. This targeted approach offers a paradigm shift in drug therapy, minimizing the exposure of healthy tissues to potentially toxic drugs and maximizing therapeutic efficacy. However, the burgeoning field of nanomedicine also presents challenges that require ongoing research and development. The long-term safety of nanoparticles in the body remains an area of active investigation. Additionally, optimizing nanoparticle design and functionality to ensure efficient drug delivery and minimal off-target effects necessitates further research efforts. Despite these challenges, the potential of nanotechnology to revolutionize drug development and delivery is undeniable.
