چکیده مقاله:

The presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water sources has become a significantenvironmental concern. Several methods have been proposed for PFAS removal from water; however, most of these techniques are not feasible at a large scale due to high costs and energy requirements. In contrast, adsorption processes have garnered considerable attention due to their high efficiencyand ease of operation. In this study, UiO-۶۶, a metal-organic framework (MOF), was evaluated as anadsorbent for the efficient removal of PFAS from water. To assess its performance, several jaradsorption experiments were conducted under varying conditions, including pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage, and initial PFAS concentration. Kinetic and isotherm models were applied tounderstand the adsorption mechanism. The results showed that under optimal conditions—pH ۳,initial PFAS concentration of ۲۵ mg/L, UiO-۶۶ dosage of ۰.۱ g/L, and a contact time of ۶۰ minutes—over ۹۰% of PFAS could be removed, corresponding to an adsorption capacity of ۴۷۰ mg/g. Kinetic andisotherm model analysis indicated that the adsorption data were best fitted to the Pseudo-First-Order(PFO) and Freundlich models, with R² values of ۰.۹۹۵۴ and ۰.۹۸۸۶, respectively. This study suggeststhat UiO-۶۶ is a promising adsorbent for the efficient removal of PFOA from contaminated water.
