This research explores the optimization of welding parameters to improve the mechanical characteristics of a type of stainless steel. The purpose of the design of experiments (DoE) is to intentionally modify the key factors in the welding process and observe the resulting changes in output. In DoE, the initial step is to identify the response variables. To this end, experiments were conducted based on the predetermined parameters and levels for each factor. The input parameters selected for this study include Welding Speed (WS), Voltage (V), and Wire Feed Rate (WFR). The Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed, and the model's accuracy was measured using standard statistical metrics, including the mean square error criterion. According to the analysis of variance (ANOVA), with a desirability model of ۰.۹۶, the most influential parameters on mechanical characteristics were identified as WFR, V, and WS, respectively. Based on the signal-to-noise ratio results, the optimal levels for each variable were determined to be a welding speed of ۲۴۰ mm/min, a wire feed rate of ۲۰۰ cm/min, and a voltage of ۱۹ volts. These findings provide a robust foundation for optimizing welding parameters to improve the quality of stainless-steel welds, thus enhancing industrial productivity and product quality.
