This study explores the impact of Titanium dioxide (TiO۲) as an additive on the physical and mechanical properties of various types of cement mortars. It delves into the strengths, durability, and workability under normal conditions and challenging environments like different temperatures, CO۲ exposure, as well as optimal TiO۲ dosages either alone or in combination with other additives. The results indicate that TiO۲ is a filler in cement mortars that enhances strength and decreases permeability by improving the hydration process and increasing density. It improves water absorption, electrical resistivity, and resistance to acid and chloride attacks but reduces workability. However, as the TiO۲ percentage rises, the resistance and durability of cement mortars decrease. This paper offers valuable knowledge for civil engineers to establish the most effective proportion of TiO۲ and its utilization in conjunction with other additives. Furthermore, researchers can leverage this paper to pinpoint areas for further investigation in this domain.
