An Experimental Hyperelastic Constitutive Model of Soft Tissue Optimized by ImperialisticCompetition Algorithm

Soft tissue characterization is a modern method inmedical diagnosis. Utilizing accurate experimentaldataset for mechanical modelling of the tissuecombining with an optimization algorithm provides areliable constitutive model of tissue’s mechanicalbehavior. This model is useful in distinguishing caseswhere soft tissue is altered from normal situation liketumors and cancer attack. In this paper, a new tactiledevice was used for soft tissue examination. Stressversus strain was collected as the experimental datasetfor every test point on the breast tissue. Majorhyperelastic models were adapted to the stress-straindata to find the most compatible constitutive equationfor the soft tissue. For this purpose, a new optimizationalgorithm (ICA) which is based on social and politicalstrategy was used.
