چکیده مقاله:

In the present paper, a numerical method on the basis ofdifferential quadrature method (DQM) for thermalanalysis of a cylindrical shell made of functionally gradedmaterial was proposed. For this purpose, the radialdomain of cylinder is divided into finite nodes in whichthe power-law distribution is assumed for the thermalconductivity coefficient of the constituent components.Imposing DQM on the steady state axisymmetric heattransfer equation, together with the global boundaryconditions, a set of linear algebraic equations areobtained. Solution of the linear algebraic equations yieldsthe temperature distribution in domain. The presentedmethod of solution are validated with those obtainedusing the commercial finite element package ABAQUSand an excellent agreement was evident. Moreover, theeffect of material gradient exponent and differentboundary conditions on the temperature distribution wasinvestigated. The results demonstrated that DQM is apromising technique for the rapid and efficient solution ofa variety of science and engineering problems.
