Energy consumption analysis of traditional buildings: A case study

This study examines energy consumption of traditionalbuildings through a case study. The case studied, is aresidential building in semi-arid climate. eQUESTsimulation software is used to compare the case to amodern identical building. In next step, the influence ofbuilding orientation on total energy consumption isstudied using eQUEST and eventually, temperature datais used to evaluate the simulation results. The presentstudy reveals that, using beneficial aspects of traditionalbuildings can decrease total energy consumption ofbuildings.
