چکیده مقاله:
Numerical simulation of horizontal axis wind turbines(HAWT) using SST-K-ω model with different windspeed at large scale profile is investigated. Modern windturbines used multi airfoil at different sections of theirblade. In this paper the performance of two airfoilseries; S۸xx and FFA is surveyed. The results arevalidated via Eppler code as well as experimental dataof the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).The Pressure coefficient was calculated at differentangles of attack and at different wind speeds. Theaerodynamic simulation was accomplished usingComputational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) based on the finitevolume method. Governing equations that are applied inthis simulation are the Unsteady Reynolds AveragedNavier Stokes (URANS) equation. Comparisons showthat the CFD code used in this study predict the bestwind turbine geometry for the correspondingaerodynamic loads. The Discretization scheme isSECOND ORDER UPWIND and the pressure-velocitycoupling is a typical SIMPLE scheme. In the presentpaper, it will be further shown that suchmultidimensional treatments also lead to a nearly ‘allspeed’or ‘Mach number insensitive’ upwind scheme. For flows in different Mach number regimes, i.e., low, medium, and high Mach numbers, one only needs toadjust one or two parameters in the scheme.
