چکیده مقاله:

The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized content creation, enabling the rapid and precise production of targeted, persuasive, and often propagandistic material. This study explores the factors driving the proliferation of AI-powered propagandistic content, examining the intersection of political agendas, technological advancements, economic incentives, algorithmic amplification, and societal polarization. The research adopts a multidisciplinary approach, integrating insights from communication studies, political science, and technology to identify the mechanisms fueling this phenomenon.AI tools such as natural language processing (NLP), generative adversarial networks (GANs), and machine learning algorithms allow propagandists to create highly realistic and tailored content at scale. Political actors increasingly deploy AI to shape public opinion, influence elections, and manipulate societal narratives. The economic model of digital platforms, which prioritizes user engagement, inadvertently incentivizes the spread of divisive and sensationalist material. Meanwhile, algorithms designed to maximize content visibility amplify propagandistic messages, often reinforcing ideological divides and fostering echo chambers. This study highlights the significant ethical and societal challenges posed by AI-driven propaganda. The lack of transparency in AI systems and the difficulty in distinguishing between authentic and fabricated content undermine public trust in media and democratic institutions.Case studies of state-sponsored campaigns and deepfake technologies demonstrate how AI is weaponized to discredit adversaries, suppress dissent, and exacerbate geopolitical tensions. Survey results also indicate a growing public perception of AI as a tool for manipulation, with ۶۲% of respondents believing it contributes to declining trust in traditional media. The paper concludes by emphasizing the urgent need for ethical frameworks, regulatory measures, and public awareness initiatives to mitigate the risks of AI-powered propaganda. Strengthening media literacy, promoting algorithmic transparency, and fostering global cooperation are essential steps to counter the misuse of AI in content production. By addressing these challenges, societies can harness AI’s potential for positive applications while safeguarding democratic values and societal cohesion.
