Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in e-commerce, reshaping how businesses operate and interact with consumers. This paper investigates the multifaceted effects of AI in e-commerce, focusing on its ability to deliver personalized customer experiences, streamline operations, and optimize supply chains. By leveraging machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics, businesses can gain insights into consumer behavior, improve decision-making, and enhance customer satisfaction. Applications such as chatbots, visual search, and dynamic pricing strategies highlight AI’s potential to redefine convenience and efficiency. Moreover, AI enhances fraud detection and security, fostering consumer trust in online platforms. Despite its advantages, the adoption of AI in e-commerce is not without challenges. Data privacy and security concerns remain paramount, especially as AI relies heavily on consumer data. Ethical dilemmas arise from the intrusive nature of hyper-personalization and potential biases embedded in AI algorithms. Technological limitations and high implementation costs further hinder widespread adoption, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This paper explores these challenges in depth, offering insights into how businesses can navigate these barriers while leveraging AI's potential. Future developments in AI should prioritize ethical considerations, transparency, and consumer trust. The collaboration between stakeholders, including policymakers, technologists, and industry leaders, is crucial for developing responsible AI applications that benefit both businesses and consumers. This research contributes to understanding AI’s transformative role in e-commerce while emphasizing the need for sustainable and inclusive adoption practices.
