چکیده مقاله:

Children's emotional and social development is significantly influenced by parenting styles. This paper examines the four primary parenting styles authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful and analyzes the effects of each on various aspects of a child’s emotional and social growth. The authoritative style, which combines firmness with emotional support, fosters traits such as high self-esteem, social skills, and problem-solving abilities in children. In contrast, the authoritarian style, characterized by strictness and a lack of attention to the child’s emotional needs, may lead to anxiety, fear, and social issues. The permissive and neglectful styles, respectively, are linked to irresponsibility, self-centeredness, and psychological difficulties in children. Finally, strategies for improving parenting practices to support children’s emotional and social development are provided.
