چکیده مقاله:
The main problem investigated in this research is the impact of environmental governance on Iran's foreign policy. In order to make a comparison and define the scope of our study, we have focused on the environmental policies of the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hasan Rouhani administrations, and we are trying to compare the environmental governance of these two administrations and their impacts on Iran's foreign policy. The main question is, what effects did environmental governance in the administrations of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hasan Rouhani had on Iran's national security? In response to this question, we hypothesize that despite different principles and policies, environmental governance in the administrations of both Ahmadinejad and Rouhani led to the securitization of environmental issues and endangered the national security of Iran. We employ the Copenhagen School's theory of securitization to show how the environment has taken a security dimension with incorrect policies. The information and data of this research are collected through first-hand sources in a library form, and we use a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods in data analysis.
