چکیده مقاله:
Cities face a multitude of social, economic, and environmental challenges that are expected to beintensified with the increase of urbanization and the impacts of climate change. Over the pastdecades, the extensive replacement of natural ecosystems with urban areas has put increasingpressure on cities and their surroundings in terms of resource scarcity, declining air and waterquality, reduced access to green spaces, and more. Nature-based solutions (NBS) are increasinglybeing adopted to address climate change, health, and urban sustainability. This study brieflyreviews the concepts in which nature-based solutions are considered in urban areas to mitigateclimate change and adapt for sustainability. The information and experiences required to conductresearch were collected through the library and review methods. In this research, in addition toexamining the concepts of nature-based solutions to reduce the effects of climate change andadaptation in urban areas, the implementation challenges of this approach and also successful andeffective examples are mentioned and discussed. The growing concept of nature-based solutionscan open up a good opportunity to promote sustainable urban transition.
